4 ways to check PF account balance on your smartphone
The PF or Caisse de Prévoyance is an advantage that many organizations offer to their employees. With the advent of technology, it has become easier to verify or track the amount you have in your PF account. Here we are listing four ways – Umang App, EPFO ââPortal, SMS – through which you can check PF account balance and details.
1. Using the Umang application.
Umang is a unified app launched by the government last year that allows users to access almost all government apps and services, such as complaints, EPF booklet viewing, and more. Users only need to go through the one-time registration process using their phone number and OTP.
Download the app using your respective app store on your smartphone
Register using your phone number and login to the app.
Now tap on the three horizontal bars in the upper left corner
Press on “Service Directory” and look for the EPFO ââoption
Now scroll down and press “View Passbook” to check the account balance
2. Use of the EPFO ââportal
If you do not wish to use the application, you can visit the EPFO ââportal using your PC or laptop.
Open www.epfindia.gov.in on your PC or laptop
Click on “For employees” in the “Our services” section
Now look for the Member Booklet in the “Services” section
It will now redirect to another portal
Enter your UAN number and password as well as Captcha in the respective fields.
Once done, you can now view your PF account passbook.
Note: Make sure your UAN is verified and activated by the employer.
3. Use SMS
If you have registered your UAN with EPFO, simply send an SMS by typing “EPFOHO UAN ENG” to 7738299899 using your registered cell phone number to get details of your recent transaction related to your PF account. This service is available in 10 different languages ââsuch as English, Hindi, Punjabi, Gujarati, Marathi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Bengali.
4. By making a missed call
Just like the SMS service, there is also a way to get all the PF account details by simply giving a missed call from your registered mobile number on 011-22901406
