New Delhi: In order to facilitate the customer’s banking operations, State Bank of India (SBI) offers banking services for missed calls, SMS banking as well as online banking service. SBI clients can check their account balance mini-statement through many methods. The SBI balance inquiry and mini statement are accessible through mobile banking, online banking, ATMs, branch visits, SMS banking (SBI Quick), etc.
SBI SMS Banking:
SBI SMS Banking is one of the fastest options that an SBI client can think of to check SBI account balance or SBI mini account statement. Note that the State Bank of India SMS Banking service is available on all phones. You can send keywords as an SMS to 9223440000. Regular SMS charges apply.
SBI SMS Banking registration process:
- Send the SMS
to 9223440000. The default user ID and MPIN will be sent in response to the above SMS. Change the default MPIN by sending the following SMS to 9223440000: . Accept the general conditions by sending the following SMS to 9223440000: - Register at the ATM: at the ATM, swipe the debit card, select Mobile registration> Mobile Banking> Registration> enter your mobile number and confirm
- Online banking: log into OnlineSBI, select eServices> State Bank Freedom from the list on the left side> Registration> Enter user ID and mobile phone number> Select the account (only SB / CA) to activate > Submit. To add more accounts, visit the Home branch of the main account or other accounts.
- At the branch: Visit the branch where your account is hosted.

Inquiry Services (Balance Inquiry / Mini Statement)
Mobile wallet recharge / prepaid MobiCash
SRD recharge
IMPS fund transfer – (Mobile number and MMID and account number and IFS code)

SMS banking rules:
- All Current / Savings Account Holders in the P segment and Current Account Holders in the SME segment are eligible.
- The transaction limit per customer per day is Rs 5,000 with a calendar month limit of Rs 25,000.
- Transaction fees up to Rs 1,000 are NIL and from Rs 1,001 to Rs 5,000 are Rs 5 per transaction + taxes.
- Service available from all telecom service providers.
- The Service is free. The cost of the SMS will be borne by the customer.
- As a precaution, customers are asked to delete all messages sent to the number 9223440000, once the response to their request has been received.
SMS formats:
SBI Quick – Bank of missed calls:
This is a free service from the bank in which you can get your account balance, a mini statement and more simply by giving a missed call or sending an SMS with predefined keywords to mobile numbers predefined from your registered mobile number. Please make sure your mobile number is updated in your account to be able to sign up for this service
If you have an Android, Windows, iOS or Blackberry phone, you can download the SBI Quick app from the respective app store. SBI Anywhere can benefit from the SBI Quick function in the pre-connection section. With this app, you don’t need to remember different keywords and destination mobile numbers. Once the application is installed, internet connection is not required to use SBI Quick, as communication would be by SMS or missed call. Note that the mobile application is not mandatory to use this installation.
Registration process:
Send an SMS, âREG Account Numberâ to 09223488888 (for example, REG 12345678901) from the cell phone number registered for that particular account. A confirmation message will be received indicating the successful / unsuccessful registration. If successful, you can start using the services.
SBI Quick Codes:
Balance survey: To get the last ‘clear’ balance on the account, you can give a missed call or send a ‘BAL’ SMS to 09223766666
Mini statement: To obtain the mini statement, i.e. the last 5 transactions on the account, you can make a missed call or send an SMS ‘MSTMT’ to 09223866666
Checkbook request: Send the message “CHQREQ” to 09223588888 You will receive an SMS. Send the consent SMS (6-digit CHQACCY number received in the SMS) to 09223588888 within 2 hours of receiving the SMS for further processing.
E-Statement – last 6 months: You can benefit from the electronic statement of the last 6 months of your savings bank account. The statement will be sent to your registered email ID with a password-encrypted PDF file. Send an SMS ‘ESTMT at 09223588888

Student loan interest certificate: To benefit from the certificate of interest on your student loan for the fiscal year. Send the ELI SMS at 09223588888

Home loan interest certificate: To benefit from the certificate of interest of your Real Estate Credit for the Fiscal Year, send the HLI SMS at 09223588888
